Bocconi MEMIT Master Students Visit ASTL in Cremona to Learn about Supply Chain Innovation and 4PL Services

A.S.T.L. Welcomes Students from the MEMIT Master in Economics and Management of Transportation, Infrastructure and Supply Chain at Bocconi University

Cremona, November 14, 2023 - A.S.T.L. was pleased to welcome students from the MEMIT Master in Economics and Management of Transportation, Infrastructure and Supply Chain at Bocconi University to its headquarters.

The meeting, organized in collaboration with MIS Srl and SOGRAF srl, aimed to illustrate to students the organization of the Arvedi steel supply chain in Cremona, with a particular focus on the innovations introduced thanks to the collaboration between the three companies.

A.S.T.L. General Manager Stefano Storti, together with MIS Srl CEO Marco Zanolli and SOGRAF srl President Dr. Paolo La Bruna, gave a presentation that ranged from a description of the Arvedi logistics system to the strategic role of rail in the transportation of raw materials and finished products.

Particular attention was paid to the technological and digital innovations adopted by A.S.T.L. to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the supply chain.

After the question and answer session, the students had the opportunity to visit the A.S.T.L. railway terminal in Cremona, accompanied by Alessandro Agosta, Sales & Operation Manager of A.S.T.L., and Paolo Nirta, Production Area Manager of SO.G.RA.F SRL.

The meeting was an important opportunity for A.S.T.L. to share its experience and best practices with the new generations of professionals in the sector.

A.S.T.L. is a freight forwarding company established in 2014 with the aim of enhancing the role of rail in the transportation of raw materials and finished products. The company operates in the steel, chemical, food and logistics sectors in general.

MIS Srl is an engineering and consulting company operating in the transportation and logistics sector. MIS Srl offers a wide range of services, including the design of logistics systems, cost-benefit analysis, project management and training.

SOGRAF srl is a railway company that handles the shunting of railway vehicles at the Cavatigozzi (CR) station. SOGRAF srl also offers locomotive and wagon maintenance and repair services.

The MEMIT Master is a postgraduate program in Economics and Management of Transportation, Infrastructure and Supply Chain. The Master is aimed at recent graduates in engineering, economics, management and other related disciplines who wish to acquire advanced skills in the transportation and logistics sector.

The meeting with the MEMIT Master students was an opportunity for A.S.T.L. to share its experience and best practices with the new generations of professionals in the sector.
